Freedom in Business and Adventure in Life: The 30-Day Blog Challenge, Day 3Posted by Jessica Oman
Unfortunately, these are difficult questions for many entrepreneurs to answer authentically.
Today’s question on the 30-Day Blog Challenge is:
What’s your definition of freedom in business and adventure in life?
To me, it means that my business is set up to allow me to explore the passions I didn’t have time or energy for when I worked at a J-O-B – travel, music, exercise, art.
At Write Ahead, we have a few house rules. Rule #4 is that what we do isn’t a job. It’s still work, for sure (sometimes painstakingly hard work). But it’s not a job; it’s just part of our way of life.
And if you’re wondering what rules #1 though #3 are – I’ll get to those in future posts.
If you follow this blog, you’re probably looking for advice and tips on writing a business plan and keeping your company growing. You’re looking for ways to become a better business owner and offer more benefits to your customers. Well, I believe that the more you set up your business to make YOURSELF happy, the better job you’ll do for your clients, because you’ll be healthier, happier and more prepared to share your best stuff with your customers.
If you’re wondering how all of this relates to your business plan, here’s a tip: today’s question of the day relates directly to the Vision and Mission sections of your plan. It’s a section that many people sadly overlook, or rush through without really thinking about the guidance that powerful Vision and Mission statements can provide for your business – and your life.
