Content creation should always be seen as a long term strategy AND a long term investment. The key to making that strategy effective and the investment a sure pay off is to be disciplined about publishing unique, high quality content to your site.
Here are some tips based in part on Daniel’s article that will help you achieve success with a consistent content creation strategy.
1. Don’t pile on the content. It’s much more effective to publish content consistently over time than all at once — and then ignoring your blog or website for days or weeks. If you write six blog posts in an inspired writing blitz, schedule them in advance so they are published on the schedule you develop for your content creation strategy.
2. Be realistic with your schedule. If you know you can’t add content to your site or blog daily, aim for every two days. If that doesn’t work, try four times a week, or even weekly. Just do it on the same days, at the same time, each week — every week. You’ll enjoy better results the more frequently you add content, but being consistent is key.
3. Create a linked content library. Over time you’ll have created a significant volume of content. Link together each post to another one on your site when possible. Daniel DiGriz recommends the following SEO tip: create a link for the title of each blog post or article and add those links to a page. As you consistently create more content, organize your linked title indexes by date into an archive.
